Choose StarterNSFW detection with a person on the uncertain cases
A single NSFW score is not a policy. Swimwear, art, breastfeeding, medical images and suggestive poses fall on different sides of the line on different platforms. We score by severity and let your policy decide.
NSFW categories we score
- Explicit nudity
- Partial nudity
- Sexual acts
- Suggestive content
- Swimwear and underwear
- Artistic and medical nudity
- Sexualised text in images
Your thresholds per surface
The same image can be fine in a private album and wrong as a profile photo. Thresholds are set per content type and surface, so a dating profile, a marketplace listing and a private message each follow their own rules.
Why the uncertain band goes to people
Detection models confuse skin tones, lighting and context. Images in the uncertain band go to reviewers who see them blurred and in grayscale first. Decisions are logged with the category and the policy section, and QA checks a sample of automatic decisions every week.
Platforms that allow adult content
If your platform allows adult content, the job changes from blocking nudity to enforcing consent, age and legality. Specialised reviewers who chose this work verify that content follows your rules and escalate anything that suggests a minor or non consensual material. Those cases are never handled as routine review.
